Your Monthly Nebulous Nomad Forecast: March 2018

The arrival of March can only mean one thing for those of you who are currently in school: spring break season. Even if you don’t have any vacation time blocked off this month, Pisces season will encourage all of us to identify more closely with people we normally don’t associate with, creating a sense of adventure and discovery in our own backyards that will permeate our March monthly horoscope.
Jupiter, which rules long-distance travel, also goes retrograde on March 8. This planet’s annual about-face encourages us to seek internal growth (versus the kind of visible, external expansion that other people can see). This doesn’t necessarily mean we have to hole up at home and meditate in place until Jupiter stations direct in July, but it might mean that the journeys we take now will impact us in more private, subtle ways.
The equinox on March 20 ushers in the season of spring in the northern hemisphere, as well as the beginning of Aries season. The next month will be a fine occasion to leap into action and take initiative on any stalled projects or whims that tickle your fancy. Buying that one-way ticket to wherever certainly counts for this.
Just be sure to not throw all your caution to the wind, however. Mercury Retrograde is back this month, beginning officially on March 22 but making itself felt as early as March 8. The conventional advice around Mercury Retrograde says to avoid travel if you can. We say: live your life, but maybe just aim to give yourself extra time to get to the airport.
What adventures await you in March? Read on for your March monthly horoscope.
Aries
March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion, and especially for you, Aries. The first three weeks of this month find us squarely in gentle Pisces season, which always coincides with your annual wind-down month. If your body is screaming for some R&R right now, it wouldn’t be completely misguided for you to skip town for a relaxing meditation retreat. The Virgo full moon on the 1st triggers your health issues, so if you haven’t been making enough time for your self-care, this will be especially apparent around the beginning of the month.
You’ll feel a little more like your old self when Mercury and Venus enter your sign on the 6th, gifting you with straight-shootin’ eloquence, fierce hair days and the ability to connect with others in your naturally simple, straightforward manner — perfect for practicing your language skills, if you ask us. On March 9, the third-quarter moon in your travel sector might move you to readjust your worldly perspective according to whatever you learned around the full moon.
By the time the sun enters your sign on the 20th and ushers in your birthday month, you’ll be at peak warrior again — but will you be a weekend warrior? Your ruling planet, Mars, moves into its peak sign of Capricorn on the 17th, which is also your career sector. If you know anything about Caps, it’s that they party at their desk — and then party just as hard at night. Initiative-taking Mars loves getting stuff done (and then some), so these next few weeks will be great for working hard and playing hard.
Just try not to get too frustrated if Mercury retrograde foils your progress with a few screwups and snafus. The messenger planet will be backtracking through your sign from March 22 through April 15, so this particular retrograde might feel really in your face. Avoid purchasing new electronics if you can, force yourself to actually read the fine print, give yourself extra time to get to where you’re going, and take extra time to form your words. You’re an impulsive sign that doesn’t generally pause before leaping into action (or blurting something out), but miscommunication is Mercury Retrograde’s favorite game, so follow Celeste Headlee’s advice: slow down and listen! This is generally excellent advice for practicing a new language anyway, but the Libra full moon on March 31 will highlight any imbalances in your relationships that may be getting in the way of an equal exchange.
Taurus
You’ve been pretty focused on Team Taurus since mid-February, and the first couple weeks of March will provide even more opportunities to collaborate and build your network — as well as celebrate a major creative milestone around the Virgo full moon on the 1st.
Your ruling planet, Venus, will harmonize with Jupiter in your partnership zone on that same day, bringing a gorgeous moment of fulfillment involving your closest relationships and your network. Perhaps you’ve really found your tribe, Taurus, and maybe you formed some very special bonds with one or two of them (either of the platonic or non-platonic variety). Perhaps bae introduced you to an open-minded and accepting new social scene. Either way, Jupiter involves long-distance travel, so regardless of what you and your S.O. have been up to this year, it probably involves a fair amount of adventure.
You might feel a little bummed out on the 13th, especially if you feel like you have to limit your appetite for pleasure and luxury on your travels. Once Mars moves into your travel sector on the 17th, though, you’ll easily ditch the pity party and get lean, mean and efficient in your adventures. Maybe you’ll have to be a little more budget-conscious than you’d like, but think about how much more you can experience when you stretch that dollar.
On March 20, the sun moves into Aries, making you extra tired of your usual obligations for a month. With the combo of “needing a break” and “having energy to travel,” you might very well take off on an extended journey over these next couple of weeks. You’ll have to deal with the fact that Mercury will also be retrograde, but if you can muster up some extra patience for the transportation and technology you rely on, this period could be very fruitful for your psyche. Retrograde Mercury will backtrack through your spiritual, subconscious zone, so meditation and dreaming could really help you rearrange your perspective during this time.
Be wary of any shady peeps you encounter in foreign lands on the 23rd, especially if you’re not feeling grounded enough to sense bad vibes from others. You might be surprised by who you meet out at night on the 28th, but there’s no telling (yet) what kind of surprise that will be. You’ll love the 31st, what with your ruling planet Venus slipping into your sign and bringing you especially good hair days for the next couple of weeks, as well as the Libra full moon lighting up your house of fun and pleasure. Celebrate by going out for a delicious dinner in whatever city you happen to be in at this time.
Gemini
It’s been a fruitful and productive time for your career these last couple of weeks, and you can expect the promotions and recognitions to continue through March 20. Just be sure to give your attention to matters at home around the Virgo full moon on the 1st — domestic and family needs may be vying for your attention around this time.
Your ruling planet, Mercury, syncs up with Jupiter the next day, creating a synergistic connection between your routines and your work. Sometimes, all it takes is the right workflow to help you refocus your energy on the stuff that’s really going to help you shine. The Pisces new moon on the 17th will be an especially good day to set some ambitious career goals for the next six months, so try to make some mental space for your long-term vision if you decide to hit up your local Irish pub (or Ireland itself) for St. Patrick’s Day.
When the sun moves into Aries on March 20, you’ll take a breather from your big month of solo accomplishments to focus on what you can achieve with the rest of your team or any organizations you’re a part of — humanitarian trips to help the needy, perhaps?
The big story for you this month, of course, is Mercury Retrograde, which officially begins on the 22nd and will backtrack through your teamwork sector, or your 11th house. Look out for miscommunication in your groups and networks, and be sure to double-check any transportation recommendations people offer you in the travel groups you belong to online. If you’re traveling with any large groups at this time, be especially mindful of traffic and commuting logistics. The 11th house also rules technology, so you might experience even more phone and laptop frustration than usual. Back up your files, and do your best to rely less on your gadgets. You might actually get more out of your travels around this time if you’re not constantly staring at a screen anyway.
The month ends with a full moon in Libra, helping you realize the fruits of your creative labor over the past six months. With Venus moving into luxurious Taurus on the same day (and your 12th house of relaxation), it could be a fine occasion to treat yourself to a high-quality retreat of some kind — one where there’s plenty of good food and culture to experience.
Cancer
Crabs are the zodiac’s homebodies, but Pisces season is definitely one time of the year for you to let go of the shoreline and swim with the rest of the fishes. With the sun in your long-distance travel sector until March 20, you’ll be yearning for a change of scenery, and what better way to do that than by taking an ambitious trip to a country you’ve never seen before? With Venus and Mercury in this part of your chart through the 6th, you’ll be especially capable of charming and verbally connecting with the people you meet in faraway places. On March 4, the sun hooks up with Neptune in this part of your chart, filling you with plenty of emotion and inspiration about your role as a seeker (but maybe not the most practical kind).
The Virgo full moon on the 1st might bring things to a head in your own local area, however. Perhaps you’ll be leaving a long-cherished neighborhood, or maybe you’ll finally find the neighborly community you’ve been missing for so long.
The March 17 new moon in Pisces will be an excellent time to wrap up your month of wanderlust with an inspiring vision board for the places you’d like to visit over the next six months. By the time of the corresponding full moon in Pisces this fall, you might very well be posting selfies in Santorini.
Get ready to get back to work after March 20, when the sun moves into Aries and powers up your career sector for the next month. The galvanizing energy of Aries is an excellent ally for jumpstarting your work initiatives, and the next couple of weeks could bring some majorly exciting career developments for you, Cancer. Just be ready to dole out extra patience for the technology you rely on to boost your visibility as Mercury backpedals through this part of your chart from March 22 to April 15. If you’re in major talks over anything career-related at this time, it’s also probably for the best to take everything with a grain of salt and assume you don’t know all the facts yet.
The month ends with a full moon in Libra, putting the spotlight on your favorite place of all: home. Spend some time beautifying your pad or socializing in your home if you haven’t been spending enough time in your sanctuary this month.
Leo
You’ve been kicking it with all the Pisces energy since mid-February, and the transformative journey to greater intimacy continues through the first three weeks of March. Last month’s eclipses likely kicked up a lot of relationship drama for you, so it makes sense that you’re probably still reckoning with a lot of tough questions about what it means to really share (and care).
You could also be exploring the beck and call of opening up to all the people you meet on your travels, and this will be especially the case after Mercury and Venus enter your travel zone on the 6th, followed by the sun on the 20th. Your annual peak travel season coincides with spring break for much of the world, and this seems to match your life-of-the-party personality.
Hopefully, you’ll have extra cash to spend abroad thanks to the Virgo full moon on the 1st, which may come bearing fruit in your financial sector.
Look out for a moment of unexpected empowerment that comes your way around the 11th, too. A strong-willed person in your life might encourage you to take more risks or express yourself more freely on your explorations — whether they’re physical travels or the more intellectual kind (if you’re in school, this certainly counts).
The 13th also stands to be an especially lucky day for you, even if you feel momentarily insecure about how other people feel about you. Indeed, this pleasant alignment is probably more likely to affect your private, inner life, so just enjoy your solitude — perhaps by taking a solo weekend trip out of town.
The peace you’re feeling now has an expiration date like anything else, but hopefully, Mercury Retrograde doesn’t make traveling a logistical nightmare for you. The messenger planet will be backpedaling through your travel and learning sector from March 22 through April 15, so brace yourself for delayed or canceled flights, and be open to reconsidering some of your beliefs about the world during this time.
The March 31 full moon in Libra may also bring a moment of fulfillment around any #neighborhoodgoals you set last fall, so if you’re getting along especially well with your local community around this time, invite everyone over for an early BBQ season fete.
Virgo
The first part of this month will be all-eyes-on-bae as the sun tours your partnership zone. Even if you’re single, you probably have one or two platonic VIPs in your life who will play a central role in your world at this time. Late February was all about getting out of your own head and letting go of your need to analyze and understand the minutiae of everything, which has a funny way of helping you connect with others more easily.
However, the full moon in your sign on the 1st will hopefully give you plenty of good reasons to put yourself first — perhaps as you’re celebrating a major personal win for your self-development.
The happy-go-lucky vibes continue on the 2nd, when a lucky trine between Jupiter and your ruling planet Mercury bring productive conversations with an important person in your life — or perhaps set the stage for a fun, just-us-two adventure within driving distance of your home.
After Mercury and Venus move into your intimacy zone on the 6th, you’ll be able to approach sensitive topics with grace. On that note, look for a tense confrontation around the 11th, and do be ready to forgive and forget around the Pisces new moon on the 17th. This will be an excellent opportunity to clear the slate of any grievances and start over with this person, in a sense. The sun joins Mercury and Venus on the 20th, giving you a month to process whatever deep questions still remain.
Your least favorite thing about this month would probably have to be your ruling planet, Mercury, going retrograde. You love order more than most signs, Virgo, but with Mercury stirring up potential for miscommunication around the touchy explorations you’ve been having all month, you might have to hold space for the possibility that your words will land the wrong way.
This part of your chart also involves taxes, so be extra diligent with your return this month, and try to file before March 8 if at all possible. That’s when Mercury enters its pre-shadow phase (and begins stirring up faint signs of trouble). Hopefully, you’ll wind up with a nice fat check in your account by the 31st, which is when the Libra full moon touches your bank account, ideally giving you some extra cash to fund your spring travels.
Libra
For the most part, March will see you putting the bulk of your focus on your health and habits, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get pleasure from these activities — especially with your ruling planet, Venus, sending her benefic rays to this part of your chart through the 6th. You’ll feel especially lucky and gorgeous on the 1st, when your sense of well-being helps bring more cash your way.
After that, both Mercury and Venus will move into your partnership zone for the next couple weeks, making you even more thirsty for a plus-one in all your adventures. When the sun follows suit on the 20th, you’ll have an entire month to focus on your relationships, but we can’t necessarily promise it’ll be more “bliss” than “miss.”
That’s because Mercury will be retrograde through this part of your chart from March 22 through April 15, creating the conditions for plenty of misunderstandings with your boo. If you happen to be traveling together during this time, definitely give yourself way more time than you think you need to get places, thereby minimizing the stress (and the reasons to yell at each other). You’re a sign that strives for harmony above all else, Libra, but this Aries energy might have a thing to show you about expressing your anger in a healthy way.
The 13th might be a day to watch for temporary feelings of rejection and under-appreciation, but you’ll be over it in a couple days.
The Pisces new moon on the 17th will be a great day to set some health and organization goals for the next six months — or perhaps put your wishes out into the world for a more flexible remote work situation (thereby giving you the ability to work from anywhere, you know?).
Watch for unpredictable or erratic antics coming from your S.O. on the 28th — they could surprise you, but it’s hard to say whether it’ll be in a good way or a bad way.
The month ends on a (hopefully) happy note for you, though. The full moon in your sign on the 31st brings a culmination of all your efforts to “be your best self” over the last six months, so treat yourself to your favorite thing.
Scorpio
You’ve been living it up since mid-February, and if you’re a creative type, this period has probably proved to be especially inspired and productive for you. Expect playtime to last for most of March, too, and give yourself permission to let loose and have some fun. If you’re on the road, this is an especially good time to soak up all the arts and culture offerings of your destination du jour, and you might feel moved to make a bucket list of all the fun experiences you’d like to see in your future around the Pisces new moon on the 17th.
First, though, Mercury and Venus get you in the mood to organize your life a little better after the 6th, and you might even find pleasure in adopting a high-octane workout routine. It’s warrior Aries that’s ruling your house of health, after all.
Once the sun moves into this part of your chart on the 20th, you’ll have a month (and then some) to mull through any new moves you’d like to make concerning your projects, health, routines, and workflow systems. Normally, Aries season would be a time to jumpstart initiatives, but this year, we have a Mercury Retrograde in the same sign, lasting March 22 through April 15. This isn’t necessarily the best time to start anything new. Instead, try to wrap up any loose ends related to this area of of your life, and spend some time rearranging your perspective on what being healthy and organized means to you. If you’ve been looking for a way to set your life on autopilot so you can work (and play) anywhere in the world, you might get some good ideas during this time, especially after the first quarter moon in Cancer forces you to resolve a travel-related dilemma on the 24th.
March ends with a full moon in Libra on the 31st, which may see you reaping rewards around any spiritual self-care efforts you’ve been making over the last six months. A nice way to spend this time would be in relaxation mode with your favorite person, or taking a break from the usual demands of life in order to drink in the cultural offerings around you.
Sagittarius
You may have been uncharacteristically holed up at home over the last couple of weeks, and the first chunk of March won’t be all that different. You’re a sign that feels at home regardless of where you happen to be in the world, but everyone needs to put down roots somewhere, even if it’s just for a month at a time. Perhaps this time will see you traveling back to your home country, or exploring your roots in a faraway land.
Regardless of where you find yourself, be sure to pop the bubbly to celebrate any big career wins coming your way on the 1st. The full moon in Virgo might coincide with a promotion, moment of recognition or big splashy moment in the public eye.
On the 6th, Mercury and Venus move into your house of fun, pleasure, and creativity, so you’ll be more inclined to return to your busy social life.
The 13th could bring lucky vibes your way as the sun hooks up with your ruling planet Jupiter, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising if this wave of happy feels found you right at home, boosting your self-reflective inner journey that’s been happening behind the scenes since October.
You could find yourself signing a new lease around the new moon in Pisces on the 17th, or perhaps turning a new leaf with your family.
After the 20th, the sun will be in Aries, giving you a whole month to focus on your creative output (and soak up inspiration from the things you do for fun). However, with Mercury backtracking through this part of your chart from March 22 through April 15, you might be better off wrapping up old creative projects before starting new ones, as well as revisiting old hobbies that once gave you joy.
Mercury Retrograde is not really the best time to book travel, but knowing you, that’s probably not going to stop you. The Leo moon on March 26 and 27 will have you thinking of faraway places, so you may as well do some research then.
News from your crew might arrive around the Libra full moon on the 31st, so see if someone in your network or online community comes through with some helpful info. This full moon might also coincide with the fulfillment of one of your most cherished hopes and dreams, so keep your legendary optimism about you.
Capricorn
The first half of March finds you content to let your carry-on collect dust for a while as you explore all the rich offerings of your own local scene. Short trips for work or pleasure are a big possibility at the moment, and you could find yourself roping your siblings into your plans.
With all of that said, the Virgo full moon on the 1st may coincide with the ripening of an exciting long-distance adventure on your horizon, so be on the lookout for any big international opportunities that are beckoning to you around this time. This could very well mark the coming-to-fruition of a trip you started envisioning around the corresponding Virgo new moon this past September.
On March 6, Venus and Mercury move into your domestic zone, making you a little more inclined to beautify your home and get your family on the phone. Even if you’re excited about all the jet-setting in your future, it’s still good to tend to matters at home, too.
You’ll have an entire month to do so after the sun moves into Aries on the 20th, and especially with Mercury Retrograde in this part of your chart from March 22 through April 15. Things might go wrong around the house, and misunderstandings with your family could be a very likely “thing” during this time. It would definitely be in your best interest to stay put for now and deal with any issues that arise. If you happen to be on the road as all of this is happening, make sure to have a friend on speed dial in case you need someone to check up on your home or water your plants, and definitely carve out a lot of extra patience for transportation snafus and miscommunication with your nearest and dearest.
You could start to feel the effects of this as early as March 8, and from about March 11 to the 13th, you might feel especially misunderstood. Assertive Mars entering your sign on the 17th, together with a Pisces new moon to renew your communication style, should help you combat some of this energy.
Here’s some other news that might make you happy: A Libra full moon on the 31st brings a big career win your way. No one loves to hustle quite like you do, Cap, so celebrate your accomplishments and all the hard work you’ve done.
Aquarius
The first couple weeks of March might very well coincide with an actual boost in your bank account. Since mid-February, you’ve been drilling down on income opportunities, reworking your budget, and working through some of the self-esteem issues that are intimately linked to your earning potential.
To add to your momentum, the Virgo full moon on the 1st might coincide with a nice fat return involving your taxes or your investments (hopefully it’s not your debt that’s blossoming under the auspices of this full moon). However, Venus and Jupiter form a lucky trine on the same day, triggering a fortuitous connection between your career and your wallet, so all signs point to “payday.” If you can afford to, you should set aside a travel budget, because when is that ever a bad idea? Also, the Libra full moon at the end of the month will be hitting your long-distance travel sector, so you could very well see one of your long-cherished travel dreams coming to fruition around this time.
But first, you’ll have to deal with Mercury Retrograde. Mercury and Venus both move into your zone of local hangs and short-distance travel on the 6th, and Mercury’s retrograde hijinks will be apparent as early as the 8th. The sun will move into this part of your chart on the 20th, and Mercury Retrograde is officially in town from March 22 through April 15. You could run into many annoying problems with local transportation around this time, and you might want to take your car in to get serviced ahead of time if possible. You might also run into little miscommunications with your neighbors, roommates and siblings, so give everyone — including yourself — a wide berth this month. Also, breathe and slow down before you talk, and try to tone down some of your characteristic know-it-all vibes.
You could be pleasantly surprised on the 11th by the outcome of any actions you take to shake up some of the stagnation you’re invariably experiencing. Expect the unexpected from the people in your immediate vicinity on the 28th, and when all else fails, remind yourself of all the fun adventures that await you in your very near future.
Pisces
Happy birthday, Pisces! You swim into March with a host of planets in your sign: Venus lending you beauty and grace, Mercury boosting your fluency in various languages, the sun turning its spotlight on you and Neptune bringing you plenty of mystique. Your birthday month is a fine time to set some inspiring personal goals for the year ahead and enjoy the party that is you. If you have to pick a day, the Pisces new moon on the 17th is probably the best day for setting your intentions.
Though a Virgo full moon in your partnership house on the 1st might turn your attention toward a VIP in your life, this could also signal a very touching moment of relationship bliss as you recognize how fulfilled you feel by the significant relationships in your life. Venus in your sign will hook up with expansive Jupiter in your travel zone on the same day, so you could very well find yourself celebrating a romantic anniversary in another country.
Expect to feel inspired (if not completely grounded) on the 4th, and get ready to make some money this month, too. Mercury and Venus move into Aries on the 6th, speeding up the rate of commerce and endearing potential customers to you.
However, all will not be so straightforward this month. Mercury will be retrograde through this part of your chart from March 22 through April 15, and you could start feeling its screwy effects as early as the 8th. Check your account balances and check them twice, and be extra cautious about where you put your money this month. Read the fine print before you click “buy,” and try to avoid impulsive purchases. With don’t-think-twice Aries ruling your house of money, this might not be the easiest thing to do, but it could be your saving grace this month.
Mercury Retrograde is never fun, but there’s always a silver lining. In this particular case, you might benefit from this opportunity to slow down and draft a more sensible budget — one with plenty left over for travel and adventure. If you filed your taxes early, look out for a nice fat check that may land in your bank account around the Libra full moon on the 31st. You know what they say. Mo’ money, mo’ trips abroad.
