Transforming Language Learning: Babbel Honored in 2025 GSV 150
Babbel, the world' s first online language learning platform, has been named amongst The GSV 150, the annual award compiled by GSV Ventures identifying the 150 companies making the biggest impact on education and lifelong learning globally. Babbel was recognized in the Adult Consumer Learning alongside industry leaders like Canva, Grammarly, and Top Hat.
This year’s honorees were selected from over 2,500 global venture capital- and private equity-backed companies, using a rigorous evaluation process. Collectively, the 2025 cohort represents over $25 billion in annual revenue and reaches more than 3 billion learners worldwide. Notably, the list also underscores the growing role of generative AI, which is embedded in nearly every company’s offerings this year.
“It is an honor to once again be recognized as one of the GSV 150 winners,” said Julie Hansen, U.S. CEO and CRO of Babbel. “This acknowledgment speaks to our continued mission of empowering learners everywhere through accessible, high-quality and personalized language education. Whether through our self-study courses, AI-powered conversation partner, extensive suite of magazine and podcast content, or our B2B offering, we enable our learners to open up a world of opportunities for personal growth, professional advancement, and cultural exchange.”
Babbel’s inclusion in the 2025 GSV 150 reflects its continued leadership in the language learning space. With over 16 million subscriptions sold and courses in 14 languages, Babbel remains committed to leading the language education industry and delivering effective and engaging learning pathways to students worldwide.
The GSV 150 winners will be celebrated at the 2025 ASU+GSV Summit, an annual gathering of leaders across the education, technology, and investment sectors, held in San Diego, CA.
