Babbel is an online portal for learning English, Spanish, German, Italian and French. The service offers fun, multi-media learning methods and the opportunity to exchange within the community. Since going live in January 2008 more than 400,000 people have registered.

Lesson Nine GmbH is the company behind Babbel.com. The young company is located in the multi-cultural neighborhood of Kreuzberg in Berlin, Germany. Currently there are ten fulltime employees and twelve freelancers working with Babbel.com
