Babbel To Go: A mobile vocabulary trainer now available in four new languages

  • iPhone apps to study Turkish, Dutch, Polish or Indonesian
  • 2000 vocabulary words with pronunciation , audio and images

London, 16th August 2011 — Language learners can now study Turkish, Dutch, Polish or Indonesian conveniently on-the-go with their iPhone or iPad Touch. These four languages are now available mobile in addition to French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, German and English, currently being studied on the Babbel language learning platform by a total of over one million people worldwide. With this development the Berlin-based company expands their repertoire to eleven languages available both online and on-the-go.

The Babbel language learning apps consist of over 2000 vocabulary words vividly illustrated with diverse images. Themed lessons such as “Free Time”, “Culture”, “Digital World” or “Holidays” can be downloaded easily onto an iPhone or iPod touch via the iTunes Store. With an integrated, real-time speech recognition tool, the user can train and test her pronunciation and receive immediate feedback. The app also comes with a free Babbel user account. Individual vocabulary words are saved, and a personalized Review Manager reminds the user to practice them at optimally spaced intervals. “We’re very proud of our vocabulary trainer.
