Two more languages on Babbel: The beginner’s courses for Danish and Norwegian are here

  • Babbel broadens its course range to include two more languages
  • Easy introduction to Danish and Norwegian language

Berlin, 21 February, 2013 - In January, the launch of Babbel's new language-course app for iPad was greeted with great success. Now the popular online learning system presents Danish and Norwegian courses on the web, broadening the number of languages it offers to thirteen. As usual, Babbel.com relies on its tried-and-true, unique language-learning method, now used by over ten million learners worldwide.

The beginner's courses for Danish and Norwegian give language enthusiasts an easy introduction to the two most recent additions to Babbel's roster. With lots of entertaining learning material, a vocabulary trainer with over 2000 words, as well as varied listening, speaking, reading and writing exercises, the user learns all the essential words and basic grammar to effectively communicate in a snap. Dialogues recorded by native speakers and themes based on everyday situations offer good insight into the culture of both countries.

In these two beginner's courses, Babbel.com also pays special attention to pronunciation. Even though the fundamentals of Danish and Norwegian are relatively easy for native English speakers to grasp, the pronunciation is always a challenge. Babbel.com scores points with its in-house-developed speech recognition tool. The user just has to enable his microphone and then can get on to perfecting his pronunciation."The new languages are a great addition to our range of courses", said Markus Witte, Managing Director at Babbel.com. "We already offer many other European languages, and given the popularity of our Swedish courses, it was clear there was considerable interest in Scandinavian languages. Of course, these are by no means the last languages we want to have on offer at Babbel.com."
The iOS and Android apps for Norwegian and Danish will follow in spring.
