Doctors Without Borders renews Online Language Courses cooperation with Babbel.com
- Program now in its second year
Press Release: New York, Atlanta July 31, 2012 – The online language learning platform Babbel.com is proud to provide the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) with free language courses for the second time.
Babbel started donating its first round of 200 vouchers last year. MSF volunteers can now continue to enjoy language learning with the additional commitment of 200 year-long course vouchers contributed by Babbel.
MSF aid workers from the U.S. will predominantly be using the French courses since about half of MSF’s projects are in francophone Africa.
Currently, MSF is providing emergency medical care in almost 70 countries – including urgently needed medical care to Sudanese refugees in South Sudan and complex nutritional and basic health care needs in the Sahel region of Africa.
"We are very happy to continue supporting MSF volunteers in learning and enhancing a language which will help them to work more effectively in their field. " says Babbel’s CEO, Markus Witte. "We feel our product will particularly continue to be of great help since aid workers now can also learn on their iPhone, Android phone or iPad with our mobile Apps, which have proven to be very popular among language learners."
Besides French, Babbel also offers a wide range of courses, from absolute beginner to intermediate levels for languages such as Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, German, Polish, Dutch, Turkish, Indonesian and English. Further information can be found here: http://www.babbel.com/
